Webinar: The Link Between Autism, ADHD, and Chronic Illness

$130.00

Date: Monday 7 April 2025
Time: 6:00pm - 7:30pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST)
Cost: $130 (inc. GST)

This 90-minute webinar will introduce you to the fascinating connections between Autism, ADHD and chronic health conditions.

Join us as we explore the physical health conditions that Autistic & ADHD folk are more likely to experience. We will cover common co-occurring conditions such as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), Long-Covid and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), and more. An overview of each condition will be provided, as well as their key characteristics, how they often present, and their rates of co-occurrence with Autism and ADHD.

If you work with Autistic or ADHD clients, this webinar is essential – as chances are, you'll encounter these conditions in your practice. For example, it is estimated that up to 53% of autistic individuals and 74% of ADHDers have EDS! These overlapping conditions can negatively impact quality of life, mental well-being, and access to appropriate care for Autistic & ADHD folk.

All professionals working with neurodivergent folk who want to learn more about these health conditions are invited to attend. The content assumes participants will have a current, evidence-based understanding of Autism and ADHD.

The webinar is presented by Bianca Comfort, an AuDHD Clinical Psychologist and Director of Comfort Psychology, who lives with these chronic health conditions. Bianca is also the Co-Lead of the Australian EDS & HSD Network - an official Ehlers-Danlos Society Network of Excellence.

All material aligns to neurodiversity affirming principles, and has been shaped by both professional and lived experience. There will be different ways for participants to take part in the webinar, and you can choose to participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. There will be options for verbal and written questions and feedback, and if you require any specific support/s or accommodations, you are welcome to contact Bianca via email prior to the event (bianca@comfortpsychology.com).

This event will be recorded, and a Zoom link will be sent out prior to the webinar date.
